Chapter 8 - Healing in the Light

Six months later, the cold Chicago winter had melted into a glorious, sun-drenched spring. The wind off the lake was warm, carrying the scent of fresh rain and blooming lilacs.
Clara Foster sat on the terrace of a beautiful, red-brick townhouse in Lincoln Park. Her hair had started to grow back in a soft, silver halo, and her cheeks had regained the healthy, pink glow of a woman who had successfully beaten the odds. The Swiss immunotherapy treatments had worked miracles; her charts were entirely clear of the disease.
