Chapter 7 - The Battle for Rose

The study erupted into chaos. Leo’s guards immediately drew their weapons, but the Iron Wolves were faster. Grizz tackled two men to the ground, his massive fists flying, while Hawk took cover behind a mahogany desk, trading gunfire with the remaining security personnel.

Leo immediately bolted through a side door, realizing the tide had turned.

"I've got Leo! Find Rose!" Jax roared, sprinting after the young man down a long, dimly lit corridor that led to the mansion’s lower levels.

The chase led deep into a fortified basement. Jax kicked open a heavy steel door, finding himself in a room lined with surveillance monitors and wine racks. At the far end of the room, chained to a heavy iron chair, was Rose.

Her hair was tangled, her face bruised, but when she lifted her eyes and saw Jax, the sheer light of hope that filled her expression made his chest ache. "Jax..." she breathed, her voice raspy.

"Rose," Jax stepped forward, but a sudden click stopped him in his tracks.

Leo stepped out from behind a concrete pillar, a silver pistol pressed firmly against Rose's temple. He was bleeding from a cut on his forehead, his breathing ragged. "One more step, old man, and I blow her head off. You lose. Just like you lost eight years ago."

Jax slowly raised his hands, lowering his weapon to the floor. "This is between you and me, Leo. Your father’s war is over. He’s dead. Leave the woman out of this."

"He died because of you!" Leo shrieked, his composure completely shattering. "He spent his final years crippled, cursing your name! I am going to finish what he started!"

Rose looked at Jax, tears streaming down her face. "Jax, Lily... is she...?"

"She's safe, Rose," Jax said softly, his eyes never leaving Leo’s trembling hand. "She found me. She's with the pack. She’s safe."

Rose closed her eyes, a smile of pure relief washing over her face despite the gun at her head. "Thank God."
