Chapter 6 - Into the Serpent's Lair

The rain began to fall as the four choppers approached the coastal marshlands, their engines muffled by specialized baffles. They parked the bikes a mile away in the dense fog, moving forward on foot through the thick, muddy terrain.
The boat house Lily had mentioned was exactly where she said it would be—dark, rotting, and smelling heavily of fuel. Hawk silently neutralized the single guard posted outside using a taser, while Jax pushed the heavy wooden door open.
Inside, the floorboards were damp. Jax found the iron ring hidden beneath a pile of old fishing nets. He pulled it up, revealing a concrete tunnel that stretched out into the darkness beneath the Vance estate.
"This leads straight under the main house," Jax whispered, checking his tactical flashlight and his sidearm. "Stay quiet. Leo thinks he’s safe here. Let’s prove him wrong."
They moved through the claustrophobic tunnel, the sound of dripping water echoing around them. The air grew warmer as they neared the end, replaced by the smell of expensive cigars and polished wood. The tunnel ended at a heavy oak panel. Jax pressed his ear against it, hearing voices above.
"...she hasn't eaten in two days, Leo," a guard’s voice reported. "She refuses to talk until she sees the girl."

"She’ll talk," Leo’s voice replied, cold and detached. "Once she realizes her precious biker boyfriend can't save her. Increase the perimeter guards. If Miller shows his face, kill him on sight."
Jax looked back at Grizz and Hawk, a feral glint in his eyes. He raised his heavy boot and kicked the oak panel with all his might, shattering the wood and bursting into the mansion’s private study like a force of nature.
