Chapter 10 - A Beautiful Tomorrow

Nine years after a billionaire threw his pregnant wife out into the freezing snow, a new legacy began.
The sun was setting over the hills of the Moretti estate, painting the sky in brilliant shades of pink, orange, and gold. Clara sat on a wooden swing suspended from a massive oak tree, a soft breeze rustling her hair.
In the distance, Adriano was running across the lawn, chasing Leo with a soccer ball. The sound of their laughter echoed across the grounds, a pure, untainted sound of joy.
Clara looked down at her lap, where a tiny, soft pink blanket was cradling a sleeping newborn girl. They had named her Emilia, after Adriano’s mother. She had her father’s dark hair and a peaceful, serene expression.
Adriano noticed Clara watching them. He kicked the ball to Leo, yelled something encouraging, and walked over to the swing. He looked happy, relaxed, the sharp, dangerous edge of his mafia past entirely smoothed over by the peace of his new life. He had stepped down as Don, passing the operational reins to Matteo, transforming the Moretti empire into a completely legitimate, global logistics and philanthropic powerhouse.
He knelt beside the swing, kissing Clara gently on the lips before leaning down to press a soft kiss to baby Emilia’s forehead.
"Are you happy, Piccola?" he asked, his gray eyes shining with an immense, profound contentment.
Clara looked at him, then at Leo, who was waving at them from across the field, and finally at the beautiful baby girl in her arms. She remembered the cold Venetian chandelier, the freezing slush of the alleyway, and the absolute despair she had felt nine years ago.

All of that felt like a lifetime ago. A distant dream that had burned away to make room for this perfect reality.
"I am completely happy, Adriano," Clara whispered, leaning her head against his strong shoulder as the sun finally dipped below the horizon, ushering in a warm, beautiful, and peaceful tomorrow.
