Chapter 7 - The Empire Reclaimed

The transition of power at Waverly Global and its primary holdings was executed with clinical, swift precision. With Celeste behind bars and facing an array of federal indictments, Grant Waverly stepped back into the forty-fifth-floor executive corner office not as a subservient brother, but as the sole chairman of the board.

Marcus Vance slid a thick portfolio of reinstated assets across the polished mahogany desk. "All corporate shares, primary trust accounts, and secondary subsidiaries have been legally restored to your direct portfolio, boss. The board voted unanimously this morning to strip Celeste of all voting rights and permanent executive privileges."

Grant looked down at the documents, then out the floor-to-ceiling windows toward the Boston skyline. Seventeen years of corporate manipulation and emotional imprisonment had culminated in this room. But the victory felt different now; it wasn't about vengeance. It was about restoration.

"Keep the board functioning, Marcus," Grant instructed, his voice steady. "I’m maintaining my operational base from Cape Cod for the foreseeable future. My focus isn't on expanding the conglomerate right now. It's on institutional accountability."

"Understood," Marcus replied, nodding respectfully. "By the way, the foundation paperwork for Liam’s House cleared the state attorney general's office an hour ago. Funding has been wired from the seized Crestwood accounts."

Grant nodded. The foundation would stand as an eternal monument to the son they lost and a fortress for mothers who needed protection from corporate and familial predators. The empire his father had built was finally being repurposed for true justice.
