Chapter 10 - A New Legacy

Six months later, summer had returned to New York, bathing the Moretti estate in brilliant sunlight and blooming flowers.
The white-rose path was once again decorated for a wedding, but this time, there were no political cameras, no armed security guards pacing nervously, and no fake smiles.
A small, beautiful tent was erected on the grand lawn, filled with blooming wildflowers, soft acoustic guitar music, and fifty of the couple’s closest friends and true family members.
Alessandro stood near the altar beneath an arch of fragrant jasmine. He wore a crisp, dark blue tuxedo, looking every bit the formidable Don, but his face carried an expression of pure, unadulterated joy that no one in New York had ever seen on a Moretti leader before.
Beside him stood Marco as his best man, looking proud and sharp.
The music shifted to a gentle, beautiful melody.
First down the aisle walked tiny Emma, now four years old. She wore a lovely pink dress with a flower crown perched atop her dark curls. She carried a basket of rose petals, tossing them left and right with enthusiastic delight, making the guests chuckle warmly.
Then came the bride.
Sophia walked down the aisle on the arm of old Antonio, who proudly escorted her as a father figure.
Sophia took everyone’s breath away. Her dress was an elegant, flowing ivory gown that draped gracefully around her frame, simple yet royal in its beauty. Her dark hair was pinned up softly, showcasing her glowing face. She held a bouquet of white roses and lavender.
As she reached the altar, Antonio gently placed her hand in Alessandro’s.
"Take care of her, Don Alessandro," Antonio murmured with tears in his eyes.
"With my life," Alessandro promised.
The ceremony was intimate, profound, and filled with genuine vows of love, respect, and eternal protection. When the priest finally declared them husband and wife, Alessandro pulled Sophia into his arms and kissed her deeply, drawing a loud cheer from the guests.
At the reception that evening, the estate grounds were lit by thousands of fairy lights strung through the oak trees. Laughter and sweet music filled the warm night air.
Alessandro sat at the head table, watching his family. Lucia was dancing gracefully with Uncle Matteo; Marco was laughing with the security team; and Emma was running around the lawn with the other children, her laughter ringing out like silver bells.
Sophia leaned her head against Alessandro’s shoulder, her hand resting over his. On her ring finger, the diamond caught the warm glow of the lanterns.
"Happy, Mrs. Moretti?" Alessandro asked softly, turning his head to kiss her temple.
"More than I ever dreamed possible," Sophia whispered back, looking at him with endless love. "You gave us a life, Alessandro. A real home."
Alessandro wrapped his arm tightly around her waist, pulling her close. He looked out over the thriving estate, knowing that the dark days of fear, violence, and deceit were forever behind them.

He had built his power not on fear or ruthless force, but on the brave whisper of a three-year-old child and the unbreakable love of a woman who had taught him how to truly live.
The Moretti legacy was no longer written in blood and shadow—it was written in love, truth, and a promise that would last for generations to come.
