Chapter 10 - Healing Scars

The war was over. Salvatore’s faction was completely dismantled, and Vittorio, recognizing that his time had passed, officially stepped down, leaving the Moretti empire to his son.
But Dawson didn't want his father’s bloody legacy.
Three months later, the Moretti family transitioned entirely into legitimate real estate and international shipping. The weapons were gone; the violence was replaced by spreadsheets and legal contracts.
In the penthouse, the atmosphere was entirely different. Sunlight poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, highlighting soft cream rugs and fresh flowers.
Dawson sat at his desk, wearing a simple white linen shirt, his sleeves rolled up to reveal his tattoos. He was focused on a contract when a cup of hot, perfectly brewed coffee was placed next to his hand.
He looked up, his handsome face fully healed, his eyes soft and filled with an overwhelming warmth.
Sienna stood there, smiling down at him. She was no longer wearing a waitress uniform or an assistant's rigid suit. She wore a comfortable sundress, her brown hair falling loosely over her shoulders.
"You're working too hard," she said, leaning against his desk.
Dawson pulled her into his lap, wrapping his strong arms around her waist. "I have a lot of lost time to make up for. And a lot of promises to keep to my beautiful partner."
May you like
"Partner, huh?" she teased, running her fingers through his dark hair. "I thought I was just a charity case."
Dawson’s expression turned serious, his gaze melting into hers. "You saved my life, Sienna. Not just from Salvatore, but from myself. You looked at a monster and decided he was worth saving."
