Chapter 5 - The Fleet Repo

At 1:00 AM, the convoy of luxury vehicles parked along the heated driveway began to move in a synchronized ballet of automotive precision.
Through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows of the formal living room, Daniel, Denise, and Celeste watched in paralyzed horror as my private security team methodically dismantled their entire lifestyle.
Two flatbed tow trucks from Vale Meridian Transport backed up to the front portico. With practiced efficiency, the operators winched Daniel’s custom matte-black Porsche 911 Turbo S onto the first flatbed. Seconds later, Denise’s brand-new Range Rover Autobiography—which she loved to brag about at her country club brunches—was hoisted up behind it.
“Not my car! That was a gift from the family!” Denise shrieked, hammering her fists against the living room window. The glass didn't even rattle; it was triple-paned acoustic glass designed to withstand a hurricane.
“All vehicles registered under Apex Financial corporate leases or Vale Meridian asset trusts are subject to immediate repossession upon executive termination,” Lena informed them calmly, standing near the doorway with her tablet. “Which means neither of you legally owns a steering wheel in the state of Massachusetts.”
Celeste was pacing the length of the living room like a caged tiger, her phone pressed frantically to her ear. “Pick up! Damn it, pick up! Hey, Jax? Yeah, it’s me. Listen, I need a place to stay—no, my car got towed, and Daniel’s family is completely useless—hello? Jax?”
The line clicked dead. Celeste stared at her phone in sheer disbelief before throwing it across the room. It shattered against the stone fireplace.
“They blocked my number,” Celeste whispered, her voice trembling with rising hysteria. “Everyone from the office blocked my number.”
“Of course they did,” I said, walking into the living room with Noah resting securely in a specialized ergonomic wrap against my chest. Emma was sleeping soundly in the heated transport bassinet stationed in the foyer. “When a company undergoes a federal forensic audit, anyone associated with the suspect’s illicit division is immediately quarantined from the network to prevent evidence tampering. You’re radioactive, Celeste. Professionally and socially.”
Celeste whirled around, her face twisted in pure venom. “You bitch! You planned this! You sat there for three years playing the quiet, obedient little wife while you were just waiting to destroy us!”
“I built a global financial empire while you were sleeping with a married man for designer handbags,” I replied, my voice chillingly level. “Do not confuse my patience with weakness.”

Before Celeste could lunge forward, two security guards stepped smoothly into the space between us, their presence an immovable wall of tactical authority.
“Your sixty minutes are up,” Lena announced, checking her Breitling watch. “The municipal transport van is waiting at the outer security gate to escort you off the property. Any refusal to board will be documented as trespassing and resisting execution of a federal writ.”
