Chapter 10 - A Eternal Tomorrow

Six months had passed since the night of the Lake Forest siege. The Chicago underworld had entered a state of absolute, unprecedented peace under the undisputed rule of Dominic Moretti, who had systematically purged every corrupt element from the syndicate, turning Moretti Global into a completely legitimate, transparent international shipping powerhouse.
The morning sun broke over the horizon of Lake Michigan, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold, pink, and deep, clear blue. The cold November wind had long since faded, replaced by the sweet, warm breeze of a perfect Chicago summer afternoon.
The grand lawn of the Lake Forest estate was filled with the sound of music, laughter, and the bright, reckless joy of a celebration.
Hundreds of guests—legitimate corporate partners, clean city politicians, and the loyal captains of the old guard—stood around a massive, white silk marquee decorated with thousands of fresh white roses and blue hydrangeas.
Standing near the edge of the manicured lawn, overlooking the sparkling blue waters of the lake, was Dominic Moretti. He wore a flawless white linen dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his posture relaxed, his ice-blue eyes shining with an absolute, unshakeable contentment that had completely replaced the cold numbness of the past five years.
A pair of soft, slender arms wrapped gently around his waist from behind, and a warm cheek pressed against the center of his back, right below his shoulder blades. Dominic turned in her arms, pulling Elena close against his chest. She looked breathtakingly beautiful in a flowing, simple yellow sundress that accentuated her radiant, glowing face—she was three months pregnant with their fourth child.
"The triplets are destroying the cake," Elena laughed softly, her amber eyes reflecting the brilliant sunlight as she pointed toward the central refreshment table.
Dominic looked over, a deep, rich chuckle escaping his throat.
Caleb, Noah, and Sophie—all dressed in identical little white summer outfits—were currently engaged in a small, tactical operation to steal the strawberries from the top tier of the massive anniversary cake, while Gabriel Russo stood nearby, pretending not to see them while keeping a protective watch over their small frames.
Caleb looked up, his pale blue eyes locking onto Dominic’s from across the lawn. He raised a strawberry in a tiny, triumphant salute, his little face breaking into a massive, mischievous grin that was the exact image of Dominic’s own childhood smile.
Dominic raised his glass of champagne, returning his son’s salute with an open, unashamed pride that filled his entire chest with a profound, healing warmth.

The five years of grief, the empty boxes, the falsified dental records, the terrifying gunfire in the penthouse, and the cold calculations of a mafia empire were nothing but distant, faded shadows now. They had survived the winter, broken the chains of the past, and won their family back.
Dominic leaned down, closing the distance between them, and pressed his lips to Elena’s in a deep, passionate, and eternal kiss as the warm summer sun illuminated their home, ushering in a bright, beautiful, and completely unbroken tomorrow.
