Chapter 5 - The Corporate Strike Back

Just as the family began to find a rhythm, the outside world intervened. Victoria Lane hadn't left quietly. She had filed a massive lawsuit, claiming defamation and wrongful termination, and she began leaking fabricated stories to the press, painting Richard as an unfit father and Emily as an opportunist who had manipulated the children.
The stock price of Hawthorne Tech plummeted. The board of directors demanded Richard’s resignation, citing "moral turpitude" and "instability."
"Let them come," Richard said, his voice cold and collected. He was no longer the man who was easily swayed. He was a man who had found his purpose.
He called a press conference, but not to defend his business. He called it to address his family.
Standing on the podium, with Emily standing by his side—not as his employee, but as his partner in this crusade—he laid everything out. He didn't hide the abuse. He didn't hide his own failures. He played the audio of Victoria’s threats, and he showed the medical reports of his sons’ injuries.

The public reaction was visceral. The "Billionaire Dad" narrative flipped overnight. He wasn't the man who lost his company; he was the man who chose his children over his empire.
But Victoria had one last card to play. She had hacked into his personal server and found evidence of a questionable tax loophole he had used years ago. She was going to use it to send him to prison, ensuring she could control the trust fund he had set aside for the triplets.
