Chapter 10 - The Vow Restored

Six months later.

Spring had arrived at Villa Costa, turning the estate grounds into a breathtaking paradise of blooming white roses, lavender, and green vines.

The grand courtyard overlooking the ocean was filled with elegant white chairs, golden arches, and soft string quartet music.

This was not a secret syndicate registration or a forced public gala.

This was a true wedding.

Seated in the audience were two hundred guests—reformed business partners, house staff, Rosa, Dr. Vance, and allies who had stood by the Costa family through the storm.

Diane and Chloe were nowhere to be found, currently serving community service sentences in upstate New York following their fraud convictions.

At the end of the flower-covered aisle stood Gabriel.

He wore a custom white linen tuxedo, looking taller, handsomer, and happier than he ever had in his life. The cold, dangerous Reaper of Boston had vanished, replaced by a man whose heart had been completely healed by love.

The organ music shifted into a triumphant bridal march.

The grand doors opened.

Nora walked down the aisle.

She was an absolute vision of grace. She wore an off-the-shoulder gown of pure white Italian silk, embellished with delicate lace embroidery along the train, holding a bouquet of white orchids. Her dark hair fell in soft curls over her shoulders, and her smile radiated a joy so bright it outshone the spring sun.

Gabriel met her halfway down the aisle, unable to wait another second. He took her hand, leading her up to the marble altar.

The elderly priest smiled warm-heartedly at the couple.

"Gabriel Costa," the priest spoke, "do you take Nora to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love, honor, and protect, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, until death do you part?"

Gabriel looked deep into Nora’s blue eyes—the eyes that had changed his entire world in a wet, dark alley six months ago.

"I took those vows in the rain," Gabriel said, his deep voice ringing strong and emotional across the courtyard. "I claimed you to give you a shield. But today, I give you my heart, my life, my fortune, and my soul. I swear to spend every day of my life making sure you never know fear, hunger, or cold again."

Tears of pure happiness glistened in Nora’s eyes.

"Nora Vale," the priest turned to her. "Do you take Gabriel to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Nora squeezed his warm, strong hands tightly.

"I do," Nora whispered softly, her voice filled with unshakeable devotion. "You wrapped your coat around me when the world threw me away. You gave me a home, a name, and a love I never dared to dream of. I am yours, Gabriel. Forever."

"By the power vested in me," the priest declared joyfully, "I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!"

Gabriel pulled Nora into his arms, dipping her slightly as he pressed his lips against hers in a passionate, eternal kiss that sealed their love forever.

The crowd erupted into thunderous, joyous applause.

White rose petals rained down from the sky as Gabriel lifted his wife into his arms, carrying her down the aisle toward their future—a future built on courage, honor, and an unbreakable love that had turned a victim into a Queen.
