Chapter 10 - The Sound of Laughter

One year later.
The grand gardens of the Voss estate were decorated with white silk ribbon, blooming hydrangeas, and golden lanterns swaying gently from the branches of ancient oak trees. Soft orchestral music floated through the warm afternoon air.
Elena stood in front of a full-length mirror in the bridal suite, smoothing down the intricate lace train of her floor-length white gown. Her hair was styled in soft, elegant waves, held in place by a delicate pearl hairpin.
A soft knock came at the door, and Ortega stepped inside, dressed in a sharp tux. He looked at Elena, a rare, genuine smile breaking across his hardened face.
"You look breathtaking, Mrs. Voss," Ortega said respectfully. "The guests are seated. The Boss is waiting for you at the altar."
"Thank you, Ortega," Elena said softly, stepping toward him. "For everything. You kept us safe."
"It was my honor, Elena," Ortega replied, offering her his arm.
As Elena walked down the long, flower-covered aisle toward the marble gazebo near the cliff edge, the summer sun shone brilliantly overhead. Sitting in the front row were dozens of families—mothers and children who had been reunited thanks to the evidence Elena and Caden had uncovered from the surrogacy ring.
Standing at the altar was Caden. He looked impossibly handsome in his black tuxedo, his eyes fixed entirely on Elena as she walked toward him.
Beside him stood three tiny, adorable figures.
Leo and Julian were wearing tiny matching tuxedos with silver bowties, looking exceptionally proud of themselves as they held the ring velvet pillows. Maya sat on a plush chair right beside them in a tiny white flower-girl dress, a crown of daisies resting on her dark, curly hair.
When Elena reached the altar, Caden took her hand, his thumb gently caressing her knuckles.
"You look like an angel," Caden whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
"I'm just a mother who found her way back home," Elena replied with a radiant smile.
The minister began the ceremony, but neither Caden nor Elena heard much of the formal speech. They spent the entire time looking into each other's eyes, their hands entwined, their hearts beating in perfect, harmonious unison.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the minister declared joyfully. "You may kiss the bride."
Caden pulled Elena into his arms, dipping her slightly as he kissed her deeply, unleashing a thunderous round of applause and cheers from the guests.
"Mama! Papa!" Maya squealed, abandoning her flower basket and running toward them. Leo and Julian weren't far behind, throwing themselves against Caden's legs.
Caden laughed, scooping all three triplets up into his arms with ease, while wrapping his other arm securely around Elena’s waist.
Elena leaned her head against Caden’s shoulder, looking at the three beautiful, healthy children who were laughing, kissing their cheeks, and playing with Caden’s bowtie.

The triplets wouldn't stop laughing—and the man who once ruled the city in cold silence was finally brought to his knees, not by fear or violence, but by the boundless, eternal power of love.
