Chapter 9 - The Heirs of Shaw

Spring returned to the Hamptons, bringing with it a tide of fresh pink cherry blossoms and brilliant green grass.
The grand garden of the Shaw estate was transformed into an ethereal wedding paradise. White silk canopies stretched over the lawn, surrounding a floral altar made of thousands of white roses, peonies, and baby's breath.
There were no mob bosses or dark syndicate enforcers in attendance. Declan had spent the last six months completely dismantling the violent operational branches of the Shaw family, converting all assets into legitimate maritime logistics corporations, international shipping lines, and charitable foundations.
Sitting in the front rows were the house staff, Mrs. Gable, Viktor (who was now the head of corporate security for the shipping firm), local friends, and community members.
Declan stood at the altar, wearing a flawless tailored black tuxedo. Beside him stood Viktor as his best man.
The music shifted into a breathtaking arrangement of cellos and violins.
Walking down the white petal-strewn aisle were the flower girls.
Grace and June walked hand in hand, wearing matching white lace dresses with pink flower crowns in their hair, scattering rose petals from silver baskets with radiant, joyous smiles.
And then came Emma.
She walked down the aisle on the arm of a retired local doctor who had become a close mentor to her over the past year. Her dress was an absolute masterpiece of ivory silk, simple lace, and a long flowing veil that caught the gentle ocean breeze. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses—a symbol of new beginnings and pure joy.
Declan’s breath caught in his throat as he watched his bride walk toward him. Tears shone in his gray eyes—tears of overwhelming gratitude for the miracle that had saved his life.
When Emma reached the altar, Declan took her hand. Her fingers were warm, soft, and steady.
"You look breathtaking," Declan whispered softly.
"You look like my future," Emma replied with a radiant smile.
The ceremony was short, powerful, and sacred.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the minister declared. "You may kiss the bride."
Declan pulled Emma into his arms, lifting her slightly off her feet as he kissed her with a fierce, passionate devotion that echoed across the quiet lawn.
The entire gathering erupted into cheers and applause.
Grace and June immediately rushed up the altar steps, throwing their arms around their parents' legs.

"Group hug!" June squealed happily.
Declan dropped to one knee, gathering his wife and his two daughters into one massive, unbreakable embrace under the warm spring sun.
