Chapter 10 - The Eternal Light

Two years later.
The historic Hamptons estate was filled with the sound of music, laughter, and running feet.
The afternoon sun streamed through the wide windows of the newly renovated sunroom, casting a warm golden light across the hardwood floors.
Emma sat in a plush armchair near the window, wearing a comfortable sweater, holding a three-month-old baby boy wrapped in a soft blue blanket. The baby had dark curls and bright, curious steel-gray eyes—the exact image of his father.
His name was Lucas Kade.
Declan sat on the rug near her feet, building a massive wooden castle with eight-year-old Grace and June. The twins were thriving—top of their class at the local private academy, healthy, happy, and confident.
"Look, Daddy!" Grace declared, placing the final wooden tower on top of the structure. "It's the fortress to protect baby Lucas!"
"It's a very strong fortress, Grace," Declan smiled, leaning over to kiss his daughter's cheek before standing up and sitting on the arm of Emma’s chair.
He reached down, gently stroking his thumb over little Lucas’s soft cheek. The baby let out a sleepy, happy coo, curling his tiny fingers around Declan’s index finger.
"He looks just like you," Emma whispered softly, looking up at her husband with deep, tranquil love.
"He has your heart, Emma," Declan replied, bending down to press a warm kiss against her forehead. "All of our children do."
June ran over, holding up a framed photo from their wedding day, setting it on the side table next to a soft, ordinary plush bunny.
"No more monsters, right Daddy?" June asked, looking up at him with clear, innocent eyes.
Declan looked down at his wife, his daughters, and his newborn son—the complete, whole family he had fought through hell to protect.

"No more monsters, sweetie," Declan said, his voice deep, strong, and absolute. "The light is here to stay."
The room fell into a beautiful, peaceful quiet as the late afternoon sun warmed the house. The dark shadows of the past had vanished forever, replaced by an eternal light of love, trust, and a family that could never be broken again.
