Chapter 3 - The Price of Redemption

The revelation hung in the air like a suffocating shroud. Oliver, hearing the words, pulled away from Damian, his small face hardening with a maturity that broke Eliza’s heart. "He has a brother?" Oliver asked, his voice barely audible.
"It’s a trap, Ollie," Damian said, kneeling. "Everything Marcus says is designed to pull us apart."
"Is it?" Arthur asked, his voice suddenly sharp. He pulled a small, rusted key from his pocket and pressed it into Eliza’s hand. "This opens the locker at the train station. Inside, you’ll find the real medical logs from that night. I didn't just create the fake report, Eliza. I hid the evidence of the second child because I was scared. I was an accomplice, but I was also the only one who kept them from being sold to the highest bidder."
They reached the end of the tunnel, emerging into the cold night air of the city outskirts. The skyline glittered with the lights of the life they had tried to protect, but it felt miles away. A black SUV idled nearby. Inside sat a driver with the unmistakable silhouette of one of Marcus’s enforcers.

Damian didn't wait. He moved with a predator’s grace, intercepting the driver before he could react. A brief, violent struggle ensued, silenced by the suppressor on Damian’s gun.
"We take this car," Damian said, his eyes blazing. "We don't go home. We go to the source."
