Chapter 7 - The Final Siege

They moved their location to a remote cabin in the mountains, a place Evelyn had bought but never visited. It was supposed to be her retirement plan; now, it was a bunker.
They had three days of peace before the sound of a drone overhead signaled their discovery. Marcus had tracked them through the digital signature of the burner phones.
"He's coming," Evelyn said, checking her magazines.
"We have to leave," Leo said, his voice unusually calm. "He’s not coming for the money anymore, Mommy. He’s coming for us."
