Chapter 10 - The Ashworth Grand Ball

One year later.
The Ashworth Grand Hotel was bathed in sparkling gold lights for its annual Winter Gala. The grand lobby, fully restored with majestic Italian marble and crystal chandeliers, was filled with the city's most prominent leaders, philanthropists, and artists.
At the far end of the lobby, where an old antique mirror had once been shattered, stood a stunning new art installation: a grand glass mural depicting a soaring phoenix rising from broken crystal, symbolizing rebirth and strength.
A hush fell over the crowd as the grand double doors opened.
Jaxson Thorne walked into the lobby, looking impossibly handsome in a tailored black tuxedo. Arm in arm with him was Della Thorne—looking breathtaking in a floor-length satin dress of deep midnight blue, her hair styled in soft waves, a brilliant diamond necklace catching the light.
In Della's arms was little Hope Thorne, now a lively one-year-old toddler wearing a cute white lace dress, giggling happily as she pointed at the sparkling chandeliers.
The crowd parted respectfully, offering warm smiles and polite applause to the city's most beloved couple.
"Look at that mural, Hope," Della whispered softly to her daughter as they paused near the grand entrance. "That's where Daddy and Mommy's story truly began."
Jaxson wrapped his arm around Della's waist, pulling her close to his side, resting his hand gently over hers.
"No, my love," Jaxson murmured into her ear, his voice rich with warmth and deep contentment. "Our story began in a rain-soaked alley seven years ago, when a brave girl chose kindness over fear."

Della looked up at her husband, leaning her head against his shoulder as the string quartet began to play a beautiful, sweeping waltz.
The dark days were gone. The shattered mirrors of the past were replaced by a love that was unbreakable, enduring, and forever safe in the arms of the guardian who loved her most.
