Chapter 9 - Legacy Restored

Two years later.

The grand auditorium of the Alden Biotech Headquarters was once again filled with hundreds of scientists, doctors, board members, and international journalists.

But today, there were no flashing police lights, no scandalous text messages, and no weeping fraudsters in handcuffs. The room was decorated with elegant white banners, fresh floral arrangements, and golden lights celebrating a historic milestone: the official FDA approval and global launch of Arthuria—the revolutionary, life-saving respiratory treatment compound developed from my father's original restricted patent.

I stood behind the main podium, wearing an elegant emerald-green suit. Standing beside me on stage was Julian, holding my hand warmly, and little six-year-old Rosie, wearing a white lace dress, holding a large ribbon-cutting pair of golden scissors.

The crowd erupted into a long, standing ovation as the screen behind us displayed the announcement: ARTHURIA OFFICIALLY APPROVED FOR GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION — FREE ACCESS GUARANTEED FOR ALL PEDIATRIC PATIENTS NATIONWIDE.

I leaned down to the microphone, looking out at the smiling faces of hundreds of people whose lives would be saved by my father's legacy.

"Three years ago," I said, my voice rich, powerful, and deeply resonant across the hall, "this company was almost destroyed by greed, selfishness, and deceit. A dark shadow tried to turn a gift of life into a tool of control."

I looked down at Rosie, who smiled brightly up at me, her brown eyes shining with pure joy.

"But love is stronger than greed," I continued, looking back out at the audience. "And truth is louder than any lie. Today, we dedicate this medicine not to profit, not to power, but to every child who has ever struggled to take a breath, and to every mother who has ever fought to protect her child."

The auditorium thundered with deafening applause. Rosie stood up on her tiptoes, helping me cut the thick red ribbon, sending a shower of golden confetti floating through the air.

As the crowd cheered, Julian leaned in close, wrapping his arm around my waist, pressing a gentle, sweet kiss against my lips. "I love you, Grace Alden," he whispered against my cheek.

"I love you too, Julian," I smiled, wrapping my hand tightly around his.
