Chapter 8 - The True Test

One year after the takeover, Alhena Logistics faced its first major crisis. A massive supply chain disruption due to a regional fuel strike threatened to bankrupt their newest and largest manufacturing client. If Maris couldn't deliver the components on time, the contract would be terminated, throwing the newly stabilized company back into jeopardy.
The board of directors panicked, advising Maris to cut her losses and lay off workers to protect her tech firm's capital.
Maris refused. "We don't abandon the people who keep the trucks moving."
She spent three sleepless nights in the operations room, personally rerouting transport lines and utilizing her proprietary software to predict traffic bottlenecks.

He had called in every old favor from retired drivers across the state, men who respected him from thirty years ago, convincing them to come out of retirement for one final, crucial run to save his daughter's company.
