Chapter 7 - Rebuilding from the Ashes

Maris took over Camden Logistics completely, rebranding it as Alhena Logistics. She fired the corrupt upper management her brothers had hired and instituted a merit-based system. She promoted several long-term warehouse workers and female dispatchers who had been passed over for promotions for years under Franklin's old-school regime.
Within six months, the company's efficiency increased by forty percent. The bleeding stopped, and profits began to stabilize.

Maris didn't gloat. She worked harder than ever, showing up at the warehouses at 5:00 AM, shaking hands with the drivers, and earning the respect of the workforce through action, not intimidation.
Meanwhile, she kept her word to her mother. She allowed Franklin and Eleanor to stay in the family home rent-free, provided Franklin stayed entirely out of the business operations. Franklin spent his days tending to the garden, a hobby he had previously deemed "too soft," finding a strange kind of peace in the quiet labor.
