Chapter 8 - Ash and Reconstruction

A year later.
The Harrison mansion was auctioned off by the state. Sarah and Mark bought it through a proxy company for a fraction of its value. But they didn't move in. Instead, they hired a demolition crew.
On a bright Tuesday morning, Sarah stood next to Mark, who was holding a laughing, healthy one-year-old Leo. Julian and Victoria Vance stood by their side, along with a crowd of city residents and reporters.
Sarah pressed the ceremonial detonator. With a thunderous roar, the oppressive granite pillars, the marble foyer, and the stairs that had almost claimed her life collapsed into a heap of harmless grey dust.
"What will you build here, Sarah?" a reporter shouted, holding a microphone forward.

Sarah smiled, looking at her son. "We are building the Leo Harrison-Miller Oasis. It will be a state-of-the-art, fully funded sanctuary and medical clinic for women undergoing IVF treatments, providing free medical, psychological, and legal aid to mothers in need. No one will ever be denied their miracle here."
The crowd erupted into cheers. The place of Sarah's ultimate trauma was officially transformed into a beacon of hope for thousands of women.
