Chapter 5: The Glass Palace Collapses

The day of the wedding arrived with a blinding sun. The hotel was swarming with paparazzi, society elites, and the glitterati of the city. Ryan Montgomery stood at the altar, looking every bit the conqueror, unaware that his empire was crumbling around him.

Just as the officiant began the vows, the grand double doors of the ballroom swung open. The music didn't stop, but a hush fell over the room that was louder than any scream. Madeline walked in. She was draped in a midnight-blue gown that flowed like liquid silk, her posture regal, her gaze fixed on the man who had discarded her like trash.

Beside her, holding her hands, were the three toddlers. They walked with an eerie, composed grace. The guests whispered, their eyes darting between the children’s faces and Ryan’s pale, shocked expression. Ryan dropped his drink. Isabella’s jaw hit her chest.

"A celebration of legacy, Ryan?" Madeline’s voice rang through the silent hall, amplified by the acoustics of the room. "I thought it only fitting that the true heirs to the Montgomery name make an appearance."
