Chapter 1 After 11 years of blaming me for our infertility, my husband kicked me out for his pregnant

After 11 years of blaming me for our infertility, my husband kicked me out for his pregnant mistress, tricking me into signing away my rights. ‘Sign the papers, don’t make a scene,’ he demanded. They thought they had successfully discarded a broken, barren woman. But years later, I crashed his million-dollar wedding with my 3 toddlers, turning his dream celebration into a nightmare…

All the way home, my heart hammered against my ribs.

After eleven agonizing years of hell and five devastating miscarriages, every time I emerged from the bathroom with swollen, red-rimmed eyes, the embrace of Ryan—my husband—grew a little colder, a little looser... until eventually, he simply stopped reaching for me at all.

But this morning, a miracle happened. The doctor confirmed I was pregnant! I sobbed with pure euphoria. We were finally going to be parents!

Yet, what awaited me on the porch wasn't a warm embrace, but my discarded suitcase and a cold, legally binding document. Inside the living room, Ryan was comfortably holding a flawless, younger woman draped in crimson silk.

He thrust a pen at me. "It's just a standard medical proxy," he lied smoothly, though I could clearly read the words relinquishment of all financial claims.

"Don’t be difficult, Madeline," my mother-in-law hissed, stepping onto the patio with a toxic smile. "Ryan deserves a woman who can actually give him a legacy. We have carried your dead weight long enough."

All the oxygen vanished. From the absolute peak of joy, I was violently shoved into the abyss. I wanted to scream that a Montgomery heir was currently growing inside me, just to watch them choke on their smugness.

But as I looked at Ryan, trying to deceive me out of my rights while cowardly staring at his shoes, a cold clarity washed over me. Why would I ever give my child to a thief and a coward?

Refusing to sign a single thing, I grabbed my suitcase and walked away.

Darkness swallowed the elite neighborhood. Exhausted, my legs gave out next to a massive, parked black SUV. I leaned against the cold metal and let the dam break, sobbing uncontrollably.

Pregnant.
Utterly betrayed.
Terrifyingly alone.

Just when I thought the universe had completely broken me, a low hum vibrated through the air.

The tinted window of the mysterious vehicle... slowly rolled down.
