Chapter 7 - A New Foundation

Three weeks passed.

The news of the scandal at The Hearth and the dramatic arrest of Julian Parker had dominated national headlines, spark-plugging a sweeping public conversation about corporate ethics, child poverty, and social welfare programs.

Under William's new executive mandate, Parker Global Holdings established the Martha Reynolds Foundation for Children and Families—a two-hundred-million-dollar initiative dedicated to providing immediate food security, emergency housing, and medical aid to low-income families across the state.

The formal inauguration of the foundation took place at the newly renovated waterfront community center in Brooklyn.

Hundreds of families, local leaders, and community members filled the sunlit hall. Fresh food tables stretched as far as the eye could see—not leftovers or discarded goods, but warm, high-quality meals prepared by top chefs from across the city, served completely free of charge.

At the center of the hall, Luis—now the official Executive Director of Community Hospitality for Parker Global—was happily serving plates of roasted turkey and fresh bread to smiling children.

"No one goes hungry under our roof!" Luis shouted joyfully to the crowd, receiving a roar of cheers from the audience.

Sitting on a comfortable velvet sofa in the private guest lounge was Martha Reynolds. Her health had improved dramatically over the past month; her cheeks were rosy, her strength had returned, and she looked years younger. Beside her, six-month-old Noah was playing happily with a set of wooden building blocks, gurgling with laughter.

Emma stepped out onto the main stage wearing a lovely yellow dress. She looked healthy, rested, and radiant, her dark hair glowing under the stage lights.

William stood beside her at the podium, adjusting the microphone for her height.

"Ladies and gentlemen," William announced to the applauding crowd. "I want to introduce you to the youngest board trustee in the history of our company... Emma Reynolds."

Emma took a deep breath, looking out at the smiling faces in the audience.

"A month ago," Emma spoke into the microphone, her voice steady and clear, "I thought nobody cared about us. I thought that if you were poor, you were invisible. But I learned that kindness isn't dead... sometimes, it’s just waiting for someone to be brave enough to ask for help."

She looked back at William, her eyes filled with deep gratitude.

"Mr. Parker didn't just give us food," Emma continued. "He gave us our dignity back. He showed us that no matter where you come from, you deserve a place at the table."

The audience erupted into a standing ovation. Martha clutched her handkerchief to her eyes, crying happy tears as she watched her granddaughter shine under the spotlight.
