Chapter 10 - The True Empire

One year later.
Spring had arrived in full bloom across the Cade estate. The rot iron gates, once a symbol of cold imprisonment, now stood wide open, welcoming sunlight, fresh air, and the laughter of new life.
Out on the expansive green lawn, a large white marquee was set up for the annual charity gala of the Harlow-Cade Foundation. Hundreds of guests—doctors, community leaders, reformed family associates, and local families—were gathered on the grass, enjoying music, fine food, and warm conversation.
Finley was standing near the fountain, chatting happily with a lovely young pediatric physician from the new hospital, his face bright with renewed hope for his own future.
Up on the grand stone terrace of the mansion, Celeste sat in a comfortable plush armchair, wearing a simple, elegant floral dress. In her arms, wrapped in a soft white blanket, lay a three-month-old baby boy with dark hair and striking, vivid ice-blue eyes.
Little Alexander Cade.
Elias walked out onto the terrace, carrying two glasses of fresh lemonade. He set the glasses on the side table, then quietly knelt beside Celeste’s chair, leaning in to gaze down at his sleeping son.
Elias gently reached out, stroking the baby’s tiny, soft cheek with his index finger. The baby stirred slightly, letting out a cute, tiny sigh before settling back into deep sleep.
"He has your eyes, Elias," Celeste said softly, leaning over to kiss her husband's cheek.
"And he has his mother's heart," Elias replied softly, looking up from the baby to meet his wife's loving gaze. "Which means he will grow up to be a far better man than I ever was."
"You are a good man, Elias Cade," Celeste reminded him gently, placing her hand over his. "You built a legacy of healing out of ashes."
Elias stood up, sitting on the wide armrest of her chair, wrapping one protective arm around her shoulders while holding their son close to his side.
They looked out together over the sunny estate, watching the vibrant crowd below, listening to the joyful music drifting on the warm spring breeze, and feeling the deep, unshakeable peace that now filled every corner of their world.
