Chapter 10 - The Unshakable Queen

The launch of the Claire Bennett took place on a glorious afternoon in Portland, Maine.

Thousands of spectators, dockworkers, journalists, and dignitaries gathered along the harbor. Standing at the pier was a massive, futuristic vessel painted in brilliant white and navy blue, its sleek hull gleaming under the bright sun.

I stood on the elevated VIP platform overlooking the crowd. Beside me was Julian, holding my hand publicly for the first time, and beside him were Emily, Marcus, and the entire leadership team of Bennett Meridian.

News cameras were broadcasting live to financial networks across the world. The story of the woman who caught her husband's fake wife in an elevator, dismantled an international financial crime syndicate, saved a multi-billion-dollar corporation, and revolutionized global shipping was now legendary.

The mayor of Portland stepped up to the microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is my distinct honor to introduce the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bennett Meridian—Mrs. Claire Bennett!"

The crowd erupted into a deafening ovation. Dockworkers waved their caps, ship horns blared across the harbor, and applause echoed across the water.

I stepped up to the podium, holding a traditional bottle of champagne suspended from a blue silk ribbon.

I looked out at the thousands of faces smiling up at me. I thought back to the quiet girl who used to hide in her father's study, the trusting wife who had been betrayed in an executive hallway, and the woman who had stood up in a courtroom and reclaimed her life.

I spoke into the microphone, my voice clear, powerful, and resonant:

"Two years ago, I was told not to cross the people who claimed to own my life," I said, a soft, triumphant smile gracing my lips. "I was told that power belonged to those who lie, steal, and manipulate in the dark. But true power does not come from a stolen title or a forged signature. True power comes from knowing who you are, standing for what is right, and refusing to let anyone erase your voice."

I turned toward the majestic vessel sitting in the water beside us.

"May this ship sail through every storm, weather every wave, and always find its way home. I christen thee... the Claire Bennett!"

I swung the champagne bottle. It shattered against the steel bow in a brilliant burst of white foam and sparkling glass.

The grand ship’s horn sounded—a deep, booming, triumphant roar that shook the very ground beneath our feet. The massive vessel began to slide smoothly into the deep blue water, cutting through the waves with effortless grace and power.

Julian stepped beside me, wrapping his arm around my waist, kissing my temple softly as the crowd cheered wildly under a sky filled with blue and white confetti.

I leaned against him, looking out at the open ocean stretching infinitely toward the horizon.

My father's legacy was safe. My company was thriving. My heart was whole.

I was no longer just the chairman's wife.

I was the Queen of my own life—unshakable, undefeated, and finally, truly free.
