Chapter 10 - The Legacy of Love

Three years later.

The Rossi estate was no longer a shadowy fortress of silent fear and strict hierarchy.

It was filled with sunlight, music, and the beautiful, joyous sound of children’s laughter.

In the grand conservatory—where the silver tray had once fallen—a toddler girl with soft brown curls and bright hazel eyes was toddling across the warm tile floor, chasing a fluffy golden retriever puppy.

"Elena, sweetie, slow down!" Skyler laughed, stepping into the sunlit room wearing a comfortable cream cashmere sweater and jeans.

Skyler walked over, picking up her two-year-old daughter, kissing her chubby, laughing cheek.

Behind her, the glass doors opened.

Dominic walked inside, wearing a dark sweater, having just returned from his foundation headquarters downtown. He looked younger, relaxed, his eyes filled with profound peace.

He walked up to his wife and daughter, wrapping his broad arms around them both from behind, pulling them close against his chest.

"How are my two favorite girls today?" Dominic murmured softly, kissing Skyler’s neck before kissing little Elena’s forehead.

"Elena tried to feed her apple slices to the puppy again," Skyler smiled, leaning back against his warm chest.

Little Elena squealed with delight, reaching her small arms out for her father. Dominic took her into his arms effortlessly, tossing her gently into the air while she giggled with pure joy.

Carmela walked into the conservatory carrying a tray of fresh lemonade, smiling warmly at her family.

"Look at this room," Carmela said gently, sitting down on the velvet sofa. "Five years ago, I thought this house was a cage. Now, it is a home."

Dominic walked over to the bay window, holding his daughter, while his arm remained wrapped securely around Skyler’s waist.

They looked out across the sprawling green estate, where the sun was beginning to set over the lake, casting golden and violet light across the quiet water.

Dominic looked down at Skyler—the woman who had been called a clumsy nobody, the woman who had taken a poisoned strike for his mother, the woman who had transformed an empire of blood into a legacy of love.

He reached into his pocket, pulling out a small gold charm featuring a tiny silver shield adorned with a sapphire, and hooked it onto her bracelet beside her wedding band.

"What is this?" Skyler asked softly, admiring the sparkling charm.

"It's a reminder," Dominic whispered, pressing a soft, lingering kiss against her lips. "That the greatest treasure of the Rossi empire was never our money, our ports, or our land. It was the girl with the silver tray who taught us how to love."

Skyler smiled, resting her head against his chest, holding his hand tightly as the stars began to shine softly over their home.

The dark was gone forever. And in its place remained an unbroken legacy of protection, dignity, and endless love.
