Chapter 9 - The European Triumph

Six months later. Geneva, Switzerland.

The International Global Tech Summit was held in a breathtaking glass palace overlooking Lake Geneva. Over three thousand world leaders, tech titans, investors, and journalists filled the grand auditorium.

I stood backstage, dressed in a breathtaking emerald green evening gown, reviewing my notes on a tablet.

Beside me stood Emmett. He looked strikingly handsome in a black tuxedo, watching me with a pride so intense it warmed my entire soul.

Over the past six months, our professional partnership had naturally, beautifully blossomed into something much deeper. We had spent endless late nights working side-by-side, sharing quiet dinners in Paris, walking through the snow in London, and gradually realizing that we were completely, undeniably in love with each other.

Emmett reached out, gently taking my hand, his fingers intertwining with mine.

“Nervous?” he whispered, his thumb lightly stroking the back of my hand.

“Not even a little,” I smiled, looking into his dark, warm eyes. “I wrote this speech.”

“You didn't just write it,” Emmett murmured, leaning down to press a soft, tender kiss to my forehead. “You own it. Now go show them how a real leader speaks.”

The announcer’s voice echoed across the massive auditorium speakers:

“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Senior Vice President of Global Strategy for Stewart Global Dynamics... Ms. Jenna Vance!”

The applause roared like thunder.

I walked out onto the grand stage, bathed in bright spotlight.

I looked out at the massive sea of world leaders, CEOs, and journalists. I saw my face projected fifty feet high on the main stadium screens.

I didn't need a script. I didn't need to hide.

I spoke for forty minutes—a brilliant, visionary address on the future of ethical artificial intelligence and global economic infrastructure. Every word was mine. Every idea was born from years of quiet observation, hard work, and unshakeable resilience.

When I finished my final sentence, the entire three-thousand-person audience stood up as one, erupting into a roaring, sustained standing ovation that shook the glass walls of the palace.

I stood at the center of the stage, smiling brightly, feeling the powerful, electric rhythm of my own success.

And right in the front row, standing and applauding harder than anyone else, was Emmett, his eyes shining with pure love and devotion.
