Chapter 5: The Reconstruction

London provided the perfect backdrop for my new life. I began working with a boutique firm that specialized in asset recovery—ironically using the same skills I had acquired while tracking David’s lies.

I was good at it. I was precise, cold, and relentless.

I had built a life that was entirely my own. I wasn't defined by my marriage, my ex-mother-in-law’s approval, or the status of my bank account. I was defined by my capability, my resilience, and my love for my children.
